We believe jewelry should be loved and worn every day. Most of our jewelry requires little care and actually acquires more of a luster with wear. Having said this, we do recommend taking off your jewelry when swimming, gardening, lifting weights or coming in contact with chemicals.
Special instructions for pearl jewelry
The beauty of your pearls comes from their lustrous nacre (outermost layer). This luster actually improves with wear as long as you follow the golden rule of putting your pearls on last and taking them off first. Pearls are especially susceptible to chemicals so avoid makeup, perfumes, hair products, chlorine, and any other chemicals. When not wearing your pearls store them separate from you other jewelry to avoid scratching. When they need cleaning use only a soft cloth with water, no soaps or chemicals please.
Special instructions for opal jewelry
Opals are a beautiful gemstone, but also delicate. They are soft and high in water content, making them more susceptible to climate and temperature changes. We recommend you do not wear your opals in extreme temperatures or while participating in physical activities. Like pearls, opals are susceptible to chemicals and you should avoid exposing opals to household cleaners or soaps.
We use 18k solid gold in our jewelry. It is a softer gold and can scratch slightly with routine daily wear. We anticipate this with our jewelry and believe the little light scratches that occur with daily wear only add to the beauty of our jewelry. They tell the story of the piece much like the bumps, wrinkles and scars we acquire in life tell our stories. Should you want to clean your gold jewelry wash with a mild soap, warm water and a soft toothbrush. A polishing cloth is recommended after drying.
