Our Leather Cords: Tying It All Together

Layering a leather cord into your necklace stack is quintessential Leigh Maxwell: cool and casual but still of the highest quality. Paired with our pendants, leather cords provide an opportunity to play with color, texture and length in your jewelry wardrobe.

We have two styles of cords, the Leather Cord with Diamond Slider and the Wave Bead Leather Cord. Both are made of 2mm fine stitched cowhide leather and come in eight different colors. They are an easy way to add a lot of color to your look.

The Leather Cord with Diamond Slider is where we started. They are 36” in length and feature a 18K gold slider with diamond pavé in the middle and subtle gold caps on the ends. This slider can be moved up and down on the cord, adjusting the loop for the pendants. The ends are then tied behind your neck in a knot or bow, however your prefer. It’s equally cool worn tied short like a choker or worn long and loose.

The Wave Bead Leather Cord is 54” allowing for a lot of styling options. Gold beads on the ends of the leather have a charming movement. One of our favorite ways to wear it is doubled with a big bow in the front or back. We also love it wrapped a few times round the neck with a loose knot in the front, ends long, reminiscent of a bolo tie.

Like any fine leather item, our cords can develop a patina over time. We recommend that you avoid exposing your cords to water and cosmetics. Similarly, very tight knots can create a bend in the cord so we suggest being gentle when you tie your knots and bows. This being said, we encourage you to embrace the patina as a part of the life of the piece.

We hope you have fun incorporating our leather cords into your collection and can’t wait to see how you style them.
